It started its activities in 1962 with the specialties of Electronics and Electricity. The academic year of 1996 started with great modifications on the School degree programs, generating new professional careers with large job opportunities and two delimited working fields: Information Technology –IT- and electronics. - As regards IT, there are four degree options: University Computer Programmer – course of two years, Computer Systems Analyst –course of three years-, BA of Computer Systems Analysis –course of four years -, and Information Technology Engineer –course of five years. As regards the Electronics field, the Electrical and Electronics Engineering degree of four-year course is available.
On top of that, there are four options of an Engineering degree: Electronics and Electricity, Electronics and Computer Science, and Electronics and Telecommunication. The correlativity in the university degrees allows the student to start working in any related job while studying or attending classes.

Laboratories: The School owns different laboratories with state-of-the-art equipments according to each specific area, and they are: Physics, Electronics, and Computing laboratory, shared by students and teachers to develop their activities.
Institutes: The School also includes several institutes devoted to the research and developing of differently academic areas. There is an institute concerning the following fields: Computing, High Frequency Electronics, Digital Electronics, Telecommunication, Submilimetric and Milimetric Waves, Optoelectronics.
Computing Center: This school owns an important Computing Center with more than 40 state-of-the-art computers for the student to achieve the corresponding course practice. Additionally, undergraduates have original software and respective manuals at their dispose as well as the best programming tools. The available computerized system also offers Electronic mail for the students to send and receive university information.
ECIEN Institute: (Natural and Exact Science Teaching by its Spanish acronym) This institute was created with the purpose of cooperating in the knowledge construction processes corresponding to the initial stage, and general basic education, and elementary-intermediate-high school. Based on new teaching models, this institute works with a broad concept of contents, taking into consideration traditional models, and, moreover, trying to redefine them giving a new meaning under the current experience school.
