Graduate’s profile

The information technology engineer is a professional trained to define and assess projects in terms of requirements of hardware, software based and application, human resources, costs and efficiency at management.

This engineer can control projects from its starting until the final implementation. They are provided with engineering basic information of mathematics and physics sciences and the programming tools of teleinformatics systems, as well as the operating platforms, always emphasizing in the information theory.

Degree Scope

1. To design, manage, achieve and/or assess projects of survey, analysis, specification, adjustment, maintenance, and update for all type of individual or legal entity of:

  • Information Systems.
  • Software indirectly linked to the hardware and data communication systems.

2. To define, apply and control strategies and policies about software and information system development.

3. To assess and select specification languages, design tools, development processes, programming languages and software architectures associated with point 1.

4. To assess and select the processing technological architectures, data communicating systems, and software based for the use of software associated with point 1.

5. To design methodologies and technologies for the software development associated with point 1.

6. To organize and manage the system department of all kind of individual or legal entity, defining the human resource profile required, as well as cooperating with the staff selection and training.

7. To plan, design, manage and achieve the user training of the software use associated with point 1.

8. To define and control the accomplishment and performance of the technical guidelines, rules and procedures corresponding to the software running and usage associated with point 1.

9. To design, implement and/or assess methods and rules to follow as regards information security and data process safety of the mentioned software.

10. To define software quality and safety metrics and rules, controlling them in order to obtain an industrial product under the national and international standards. Achievement of the control upon the product formal specification; designing, development, implementation and maintenance process. Definition of validation metrics and quality certifications.

11. To carry out Arbitrations, expert reports, appraisals and assessments about the specific application and acknowledge of the work field.
