Duration: 5 years.

The degree program belonging to the school of Architecture and Urban Planning takes as starting point the architect profile already determined by the state standards that defines the base competences graduates of this field should own.

Graduate’s Profile

A practitioner able to interpret and meet the demands, wherever they are working in; fully acknowledging the environment and cultural context of the work; capable of defining programmatic and project-feasible guidelines; achiever of meaningful designs that comprehensibly involve technology and materiality; and eventually, a skillful manager in individual, collective, public and private works of different scales.   

As regards the professional development, the criterion shared is to go beyond the traditional architect role of designer and building controller to assume the training of a planner, designer, producer and manager of their human surrounding, trained and ready to work in different environments.

Degree scope

In accordance with the specific responsibilities approved by the Department of Education resolution Nº 133 and directly related and combined with our curricular program, these the task scope the graduate:

  • To design, plan, monitor, and achieve the realization of the spaces assigned to the human habitat; the construction of strong structures corresponding to architectural works; the construction of complementary installations corresponding to architectural works; excepting when the specificity of them implies engineering intervention.
  • To design, manage and carry out works of restoration, refurbishment, conservation, and functioning of buildings, set of buildings and other spaces that are human habitat.
  • To design, plan and control the project achievement of the interior, exterior and mobile provision for the human habitat, including dwelling for human transport.
  • To carry out studies, plan and monitor constructions set for landscape realization.
  • To fulfill studies and research dealing with the planning and distribution of space that is part of the habitat and with the problems related to the design, project and achievement of architectural works.
  • To advise as regards the planning and distribution of space that is part of the habitat, and with the problems related to the design, project and achievement of architectural works.
  • To participate in programs and projects of the territory environmental and physical distribution and the urban and rural space user.
  • To participate in the generation of legal norms and rules related to distribution and planning of spaces that are part of the human habitat..
  • To design, project, build, monitor and evaluate everything concerning the hygiene and safety of architectural works.

Current conditions of the local and global reality prove the need of a constant adjusting of the graduate’s profile, in context of fast cultural changes. Thus, the quality training target is to provide the future professionals with an education leveled locally and internationally as well. That is the goals; to fulfill a growing quality in terms of human resource to optimize the professional achievement in accordance to the graduate’s job demand.
