“Stick your tongue out at Cancer”

The School of Health Sciences invites the entire university community on Thursday 8 and Friday 9 from 10.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. in the Central Patio to participate in this national campaign.

In this event, the students of PPS of the "Degree of Dentistry", directed by Esp. Andrea Romero and the responsible Prof. Daniel Chaban, will examine mouths of students, teachers, and administrative staff for free.

In this way our University adheres to the Health Centers, Dental Circle, Hospitals, UNCuyo, the initiative whose objective is the early detection of cancer and potentially malignant lesions that develop in the mouth.

Mouth cancer is one of the neoplasms with the lowest survival rate and worst prognosis. It is estimated that it takes the ninth position, in terms of frequency, of all cancers in the world. Approximately 270,000 new cases are diagnosed annually in men and 120,000 in women. To alleviate this pessimistic perspective, periodic control is essential to make an early diagnosis of any potentially malignant disorder.
